Picture Framer and QUILTER

Cathy and Greg (still can't tell you you are pulling my leg),

you can either cross stitch a design 8+ times on linen or aida cut to 8 1/2" square (or whatever size we decide) or take or learn quilting and use fabric from a local quilt shop! The choice is yours. Right now we have 8 people, so your design made 8 times.

I am posting it on PPFA Facebook page as well to see if we can get more quilters involved. The more people involved the more interesting the finished quilt!

I'm in unless it rises above my skill level.

I would do ANYTHING to get out of rowing that !@#$% boat! I already told you I don't like boats!

I was thinking X shaped squares in a neutral with an appliqued fish or fly. Color doesn't matter, I guess; it is art.

Greg: applique is definitely an acceptable quilting technique and I am glad you are in!

Cathy: for an 8" block, quilting, the fabric or block is cut or sized to 8 1/2". So once the quilt top is sewn together, the block is 8"

I know you don't use aida, honey, but i was trying to make it easy for you! :)

So, what is the time frame for our squares? Mine will be pretty simple because that is all I know how to do.

I'm excited to see the fly fishing applique! Where I live, quilting and fly fishing are big so your combo is perfect!

finish date for blocks will be July 15.

Cathy, I will have a final count at the end of Next week I hope. Right now it is qty 8 of the same blocks. Size 8" finished ( 8 1/2" square)

Main color scheme is purple, accent color lime green.

Anything else we need to finalize?

Here we go, fellow framing quilters!

We have 9 people participating in the quilt blocks swap!

so 9 quilt blocks need to be made of your block! Pick a block that says something about you!
The color scheme is purple with lime accents. Neutrals can also be used.
Sign your quilt blocks!
Finished size block is 8" square (for newbies, that means 8 1/2" edge to edge)
Have your blocks ready to be mailed by July 15th!
You are welcome to share photos and progress here!

If you know of someone else who would like to join, please invite them! It just means we will have to add to how many blocks we need to make!

Hopefully in January we can bring our finished tops or even finished quilts to Vegas to show!

-Sarah

Is there a limit of quilt blocks are required?

Are our PPFA community quilt block quanities . . . limitless?

Remember that I do not "quilt" when answering my question ..

How are all our blocks getting married together?

Jini,

do you have a local quilt shop that can help with making your quilt top?

it is sort of like making a 14 whole mat. You use a neutral border with fabric and sew borders to marry it all together.

the width of your borders decides the size of your quilt.

Oh, yes. Commissioning any seamstress to put together, that is the ticket.

Thanks for setting a limit. I was starting to panic as well!
