Urban Ashes New Digs Party

  • 713 Ellsworth Road, Suite F
  • Ann Arbor, Michigan 48108
5 1/2 years in the making, Urban Ashes is now hitting its stride and has landed in their new production digs to kick out the finest framing and other wood goods in America. Are we ready to host a party ... not really ... but it is all in process and we are ready to share our successes and enjoyment with our friends.

So... we feel a nice open house of our new production studio is in order. We will be showcasing of some fine art by founder Paul M. Hickman as well as some of his world class custom furniture. Several pieces not shown before.

The music part is still in process as well but we can tell you we are working on bringing in a very special performer for the night. Stay tuned.

Visit the website for details or ask them here, this event is open to everyone!

Thanks for posting that information, Randy. It would have been helpful to have the hotel suggestions a couple of weeks ago. I previously booked a room farther away, but would rather stay closer to the event. When I checked this morning by phone, none of the four hotels had a room available for Saturday night.

I did post it on the Greatlakespppfa.com web page on October 1st. If I had to pick a place in town it would have been the Regent, further out but still only about 4.5 miles. On the map you can type in hotels in the search bar and they will all pop up. I did just add a few more but also left off a couple that I would not recommend.

FrameReady software will be at this event and will be offering PPFA members a special discount of 20% off the purchase of FrameReady point-of-sale software.

Looking forward to a wonderful event!

This program was so informative that if you weren't taking notes, you were missing a lot. Hugh Phibbs packed so much innovative information on preservation into these two classes. We are fortunate to have speakers like him, and some others, in our industry, who are actually anxious to help us learn.

The hard work that went into organizing this is also a tribute to those in our industry who really care about constantly improving and informing framers about our profession. Countless (volunteered) hours are involved.

We also got some awesome (Chickie) cookies!:smug:

I am so upset that I missed the event.

I was about to get into my car Sunday morning only to find a big puddle of transmission fluid on the ground. :heart-borken: I went to the Urban Ashes open house the previous evening and on my way back home ran over some road trash. It punctured the pan under the transmission.

I am waiting to have the car towed for replacement of the pan. It could have been worse.

Great event! Kudos to the event organizers! Everyone was very helpful.
The room was absolutely beautiful; the nicest I have ever had PPFA training in! Wood paneling, tall stained glass windows...

Hugh's presentation was very informative. (He has already made updates since I saw it in Florida!)
The door prizes were plentiful. The competition entries were so creative! Food breaks were right on time and nourishing.

Special thanks to Randy Parrish for helping me set up and the Rob Gulf for parking my car! You guys are the greatest!

Kudos to Cathy Coggins for sending us cookies! Yummy!
