Midwest Framing Workshop, Sunday October 19th

The photo is from #framefest, I wasn't there but I think the H2O molecule looks suspiciously familiar.

Randy,
You are correct that Hugh has drawn the H2O molecule. Some people mistakenly thought it was Mickey from Disney. :smile-new:

Really looking forward to attending the Midwest Framing Workshop. Hope you make the cookie quota from Ohio.

Carol, he is on record as having the best cookies in the land...I am going to keep the pressure on! :z-cornervice:

And I am also trying to finagle my schedule to get there.:hungry:

So it's on then. Well my sister is getting married that weekend or I would be there. Will be watching this though. Very closely. No "drop and bakes", Parrish :yuck:, they gotta have love AND butter in them!

Okay folks I need reviews, and video with yummy-noises.

Lets do this then, Peanut Butter or Chocolate Chip Oatmeal? :victorious::victorious:

So, sitting here on a Monday drinking my coffee, stretching some needlework and thinking about the "PPFA Bake Off".
First, fun. But more than that indicative of the lengths we will go to to make these PPFA events welcoming. Appealing. Approachable. And just fun. It is awesome how we are trying to do our chapter events not just to be compliant with Chapter requirements but to make them awesome. Making folks want to go especially for the camaraderie. Parrish is gonna bake for ya'll. (can we get a piccie of you in an apron in the kitchen for proof? I am sure the kiddies of yours will oblige me!:smug:) But to make the events appealing enough for people to not just drive many hours but hop on a plane even. It's cool to see. It is just the start but it is cool to see. The big shows are NOT capitalizing on that camaraderie. It's there but it's not theirs.

Second, I need a volunteer. I really am traveling that weekend. I will be in PA for my sister's wedding. BUT, I will send cookies to The Framer's Workshop. I need a volunteer that I can mail them to. OTHER than Parrish. Wouldn't want him to pull a switcheroo. Isn't Jim & Gayle Miller going?....I could trust Gayle to transport them! :playful: (Sorry Jim!)

Do you "Outsource your framing?" Didn't think so. Mixer, butter, chips, LOVE! Your sister can tell you what to do, she'll like, I am a sister I know these things.

"...to shame!?" Are you baiting me Parrish? Good thing YOU are baking!:loco:

Oh our we following framing competition rules? I don't think so, a cookie is a cookie, I think you're scared there are better cookies out there. BTW in your package you sent there were no cookies, so how are we to tell the difference?

Okay Parrish. Cookies will be at The Framers Workshop, from me. I will send them to a neutral party that will ensure their safe delivery. Will contact Gayle Miller, as I fear Jim will eat them all.

Come on Randy the recipe is on the package. Your sister can help, but they have to be your work. And no I ain't scared.

Nelson's is adding a great incentive to our October 19 meeting. Any new framers who join the PPFA for the trial rate of $95 (at the meeting or renews membership) will receive a free sheet of 32 x 40 Tru Vue Museum Glass. Any PPFA member who brings a new member to event will also receive a sheet of
Tru Vue Museum glass.www.greatlakesppfa.com

You would actually make money joining the PPFA!

If your planning on attending but preregistering at the lower rate, let us know with a RSVP at orders@greatlakesppfa.com

Thanks RP

This is gonna be great! Hugh Phibbs' classes, a rousing cookie bake-off featuring a couple of apparently-serious cookie makers, super-duper freebies and incentives. All we need now more busloads of framers.

Randy, I'm afraid there's no way to get out of this cookie competition, my friend. The Chickster made me promise not to eat all the cookies on the drive up from Columbus. But if they're still warm on their arrival from the sunny south, all bets are off.
 :playful:

Framers attending this event: I am also sending Jim milk money (who gets to say that anymore, 'specially about our Jim. "Milk money!" oh that's rich! "Jim, here's your milk money!"). Ya'll may need a glass of milk or two.. No toll house recipe for this competition folks. Gonna pull out my secret recipe for this one. Wear your stretchy pants people.

Thanks Miller, and I may need to talk to Gayle to make sure you don't eat 'em all. You are just attending, not teaching, right? The sugar high may make you incoherent Jim.

Have a great time kids. Parrish, looks like a really good event. Nelson's offer is a sweet one. It's nice to see these events not just put out, but desirable and my favorite term "relevant". Way to go! Everyone pitching in to make it just more!
