What do you do on Sunday evenings?

You are certainly multi skilled, Mikki. I certainly don't do that on sunday evenings!

I'm as boring as bat droppings really. Just check Framers Corner and FB a few times, type some email replies, work on my new website, watch some dreadful crap on the idiot box - through my eyelids, then sleep in my bed until some absurdly early time in the morning, long before the crack of dawn!

Doesn't that inspire you? LOL.

PS Sunday evening was a very long time ago down here!

Yes, Sunday was yesterday. I helped my son with homework. He does all that on his Apple Laptop and sends it to his teacher via email. The things he does amazes me, because he just assembles his project from the internet, crops, edits, arranges all by touching a few buttons and scrolling.

For the rest of the time we watch Indian t.v. via satellite. There is always something good to watch.
Sometimes actresses in their early twenties such as Anushka Sharma hopping on the screen. I must be getting old and into a midlife crisis!
It has been so hot here for the past two weeks with no rain and the soil is so dry. Then there are the horrible flies coming into the house.

Since we work 6 days a week and usually get home near 8 PM, Gail and I like to spend Sundays quietly. We always rise by 6 AM, and by noon we're ready to shop, take care of household chores, and cook. Sunday is when I do most of my course research/devlopment, outlining and article writing, too.

Every two weeks I bake sourdough bread, which takes about 45 minutes of work over a period of 18 hours or so. Saturday evening I mix the dough and let it rise overnight. Sunday morning I knead it and put it in the pans to rise again, then bake it around 1 PM. Later in the day, after the loaves have cooled, we slice and freeze it, 4 slices to a sandwich bag.

We usually cook one or two stew, soup, or casserole recipes to warm up for dinners in the coming week. For example, yesterday I baked a batch of about 60 meatballs to freeze, and simmered a pot of chicken & noodles. Gail made a pot roast.

Gone are the Sundays when I rode 100-150 miles with the bicycle club, which left Gail to shop unsupervised.

For a while now I've been actually coming into the shop and working on Sundays.
Just too much to do.

Yesterday, for the first time in a long time I actually started a novel.
Got about half way through a Clive Cussler mindless spy/adventure thing.
Nice relaxation.

The highlight of my Sunday was getting the Jeep washed and waxed, an almost-annual event.

Thankfully, my dealership washes and vacuums my car when it's in for service, so it usually gets done (properly) about twice a year. Other than that I run it through a touchless automatic when I can't tell what color it is anymore...

Religious meeting first thing. Afternoon housework, cooking and baking for a few days supplies, grocery shop or a pot of tea and clicking knitting needles. Need to get in the garden too, my hydrangeas need tending, and just planted some rosebushes.

Also, training for my second half marathon.

And Sundays are NAP DAY! I do love an afternoon NAP! But for the next two weeks the shop is open for a 'Yarn Crawl'. 8 shops throughout central FL. Extra biz yes, but they mean no NAPS for two weeks. :mmph:

Golly I sound like an old fart. Can I say that here?:tape:

Sunday evenings is the best night of TV, usually the night I reserve for some "me" time. Kids are asleep, clothes out for Monday, lunches packed. I get to watch, Walking Dead or soon Game of Thrones. HBO or Showtime have the best shows on.

Sunday includes the long walk with the dogs. They get walks daily, but on Sunday there is more time. Like Jim I prep food for the week (one of my employee benefits is providing lunch). Work on at least one Honey-Do project as well, but can skip that if there is a good estate sale going on.
Also it's usually the only evening we go out. Lately it's to our favorite seafood place (Fish Co.) for appetizers and soup (Gumbo, Manhattan Clam Chowder, or Minorcan fish stew). The oysters have been particularly good this year.
Yeah, the idiot box goes on, and SWMBO is in charge. Usually it is something I can snooze to.

For some months now my son has been joining friends at a youth group at a church near my shop. Since it's so close and the meeting is only two hours it seems silly to drive home and back so I've been coming to work. It's turned into when I do most of my ordering. I tell myself it would be a good time to dust, but so far that's only happened twice.

Sundays is the day of our Big meal, which means either I cook, with Janet's help, or we go out. Today we went out and had prime rib. Tonight I will do pizza (actually, warm up left over pizza).

Sunday Evening I review my schedule for the next few weeks. Only one medical appointment next week, which is great, if it holds.

Generally, I do all of my ordering, either by the suppliers website, or by e-mail, Sunday night. Waiting until Sunday allows me to consolidate requirements, and everything will be here by Thursday, if from an out-of-state supplier, and Monday afternoon if my local distributor.

I also, generally, generate all of the shipping documents for my out of state shipments. I like them to go out Monday, because they generally take 4 days ground, and I don't like shipments being in un-supervised trucks over the weekend. By waiting to Sunday, the dates are right, so I don't have to think about revising the automatic date. One shipment to New York, which I generate today, but I will ship tomorrow. I build the boxes (a box within the box with 2-1/2" acoustical foam) and have the customer ship the box back, empty. In the past I have not fully charged for the boxes, but I think I'm going to start charging, and then refund part if they return the box.

An art show to go to, this afternoon. One of my artist clients. She took first in her category; I will probably remind her that the wonderful framing I did was certainly a plus.

Besides prepping for the week ahead, I agree with Randy. Sarah and watch "Revenge".... I know, but we started the series and have to keep going - it is indeed a daytime soap made for the prime time crowd.

Been also watching the "Vikings" which started on the History Channel. :thumb:

John, I have the same problem with the Good Wife. Lately I have been spending a couple of hours Sunday evening working on PPFA stuff. It doesn't feel like "work," but is my new hobby.

Sunday is "Me" time....

Last night I went to a concert by the Central Methodist University (brilliant musicians) and a couple of Sundays ago I spent it out with a friend and our daughters at the Fox theatre in St. Louis. (We saw "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert"). I prefer to see a performance if there is one around. If not, then often a movie.

I also love to go around to flea markets, scavenging for props, etc. Usually a couple of us get together and go. Otherwise, I'm doing something creative in the kitchen or my craft/sewing room. There are often kids over watching that hideous show, "The Walking Dead".

Interesting, I have also acquired a taste for an overly dramatic, glorified nighttime soap on MONDAY nights: "Switched at Birth". I like that they use a lot of ASL, which I am very rusty at, but am intrigued that it is a focal part of the drama.
