We are doing our annual Art for the Animals fundraiser, where we raise money for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. We raised 16 puppies for them, and the difference they make in people's lives is amazing.

Our art supply vendors have donated 5x7 canvas boards and people pay a $1 donation to take them and paint on them.

They are returned by the end of September and Howard's frames them. There is the sticking point. We save a lot of customers' old frames and cut them into 5x7s. Moulding companies donate some shorts or 5x7 chops and the real angels send them joined.

But we already have 200 canvases out, so it is going to be a push to come up with 200+ frames.

Could you donate a few? We don't care how 'unloveable' they are.

Send what you can to Howards, 1256 Dual Hwy, Hagerstown, MD 21740.

Guiding Eyes and I will be ever so grateful.

I'll help. But when do you need them?

I'll check & see how many I have when I get to work on Monday. I usually have about a dozen ready to go. Some aren't pretty.

I make a 5 x 7 every time I have leftover moulding from a job. If it is a new moulding I join the 5 x 7 first and this has saved me lots of trouble from surprises at the underpinner!

Which is not to say that the rest of you are less than amazing! Every little bit makes our job a little easier, and we humbly thank each of you. Even 2 or 3 frames help. If you have ugly moulding that you hate to pitch, it's ok to send several that are alike. With 200 canvases, we can scatter them on the wall, and no one will notice.

So thanks, all, for whatever you can do.

I'll send some. I have back stock on 5x7's from short stock. I'll see how many can fit the flat rate box

Thank you. When we get a box of frames, there is much excitement- trying to pair this frame with that art. No, it looks better on this piece. No, I like it over there.

So we will have to decide sometime which pieces get the plums...

Thank all of you again. And if you haven't sent some, it's not too late.
